OIG enables companies to use the latest technologies alongside their existing systems, providing them with a competitive business edge. Our proven approach to development produces easily extensible and highly maintainable systems and is the result of our work with many companies of varying sizes from a number of different industries, including retail, new media, financial services, networking, manufacturing, utility and pharmaceutical, spread throughout the world.

The company was established in 1993 to run the Object Interest Group, formed in 1990 to help large scale users migrate to object technology (OT). Key areas of OIG's work were methodology selection, reuse management and the feasibility of Common Business Objects. During this time OIG met with and influenced methodologists and tool suppliers.

OIG has since developed and implemented reusable processes, frameworks and components facilitating the rapid development of flexible and maintainable systems. A recent example of this work is OIG's Business BuilderTM product which combines our flexible open development process, Fractal, with a powerful tool box of tried and tested components, allowing even the smallest enterprise to capture its business in software !
